Qualifications:
  • Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Licensure: Must have an active New York State medical license. Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in interpreting EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitors, and other cardiac diagnostic studies. Skilled in managing hypertension, heart failure, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease.
  • Soft Skills: Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive cardiovascular care, including patient evaluations, diagnostic testing, and treatment planning for a wide range of cardiac conditions.
  • Interpret and analyze cardiac diagnostic studies, including EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitors, and event recorders.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, and hyperlipidemia.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, lifestyle modifications, and referrals for interventional cardiology or cardiac surgery when indicated.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests relevant to cardiovascular health, including lipid panels, cardiac biomarkers, and coagulation studies.
  • Educate patients and families on heart disease prevention, risk factor modification, medication adherence, and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, and other specialists within the multi-specialty practice to ensure coordinated, whole-person care.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Stay current with advancements in cardiology through continuing medical education, professional society guidelines, and evidence-based research.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings as appropriate.
