Position Overview:
We are seeking a flexible and experienced Certified Nursing Assistant to join a Medical-Surgical Float team. This role provides critical support across multiple med-surg units, offering diverse clinical experiences while ensuring consistent patient care standards throughout our academic medical center.

    • Full-time position
    • Day/Evening Shift
    • 6 shifts (12-hour shifts) over two weeks
    • Day shifts: 07:00–19:30
    • Evening shifts: 11:00–23:30
    • Every other weekend required

Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Licensure: Current New York State CNA certification; BLS certification
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year patient care experience; Level 1 trauma experience preferred
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in vital signs, patient hygiene, and activities of daily living
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills; adaptable to different unit environments

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care across multiple medical-surgical units
  • Assist with activities of daily living and patient mobility
  • Obtain and document vital signs and patient information
  • Support nursing staff with procedures and treatments
  • Maintain clean and safe patient environments
  • Transport patients and equipment as needed
