Dental Hygienist Reviewer (Contract) – Downstate, NY

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Dental Hygienist Reviewer to conduct on-site monitoring and quality improvement reviews for a respected non-profit organization in Downstate, NY. This contract role combines clinical expertise with quality assurance skills to evaluate dental care services, with a focus on pediatric dental care standards.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program.
  • Active New York State Dental Hygienist credential/registration.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience providing clinical services or in quality improvement/utilization reviews; experience in pediatrics is required.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to relate effectively with clinical and administrative personnel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to on-site review assignments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete all pre-review activities, including scheduling, notification, review of previous monitoring information, and other required protocols.
  • Review patient records for all required components and time frames.
  • Conduct site observations and note any deficiencies.
  • Make appropriate recommendations based on monitoring activities.
  • Provide technical assistance to personnel where appropriate.
  • Use data management tools to record monitoring findings.
  • Prepare provider monitoring reports in accordance with findings.
  • Participate in case debriefs and accept additional assignments as requested by supervisors.
