We are currently seeking a Family Medicine Physician (Bilingual Bengali) to fill an opening with a multi-specialty practice located in the Bronx, New York. Qualifications:
- Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program.
- Licensure: Must have a New York State medical license. Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine.
- Experience: Open to new graduates.
- Language: Must be bilingual in Bengali or have relevant experience supporting Bengali-speaking or comparable communities.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and utilizing electronic health records.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Bengali, strong clinical judgment, cultural competence, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive family medicine services, including routine check-ups, health screenings, immunizations, and preventive care for patients of all ages.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, respiratory infections, and other common illnesses.
- Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
- Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Educate patients and families on disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, and treatment options - delivering all education in both English and Bengali as needed.
- Coordinate care with specialists and other healthcare professionals within the multi-specialty practice.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in electronic medical records.
- Provide culturally competent care that respects the language, beliefs, and practices of Bengali-speaking patients and their families.
- Serve as a trusted medical resource for the Bengali community, helping to bridge language and cultural barriers to healthcare access.
