Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Internist/Family Medicine Physician to join a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Highlands, NC. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care to a diverse patient population while working in a supportive, community-focused environment.

  • Work Schedule:
    • Full-time: 40 hours/week (36 clinical hours + administrative time).
    • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
    • Telehealth: 2 - 4 weekends per year for outpatient triage.

Qualifications:
  • Education: MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Licensure: Active North Carolina medical license.
  • Certification: Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Experience: New graduates are welcome. 
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in EHR systems and telehealth platforms.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, empathy, and commitment to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive primary care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute/chronic conditions.
  • Develop personalized care plans emphasizing preventive health and chronic disease management.
  • Collaborate with specialists to ensure coordinated, holistic patient care.
  • Participate in telehealth triage services during designated weekends.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with practice standards.
  • Mentor support staff and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
