Licensed Practical Nurse (School-Based, 1:1) – Wake County, NC

Position Overview
We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide dedicated 1:1 nursing services to assigned students with documented medical needs during the school day and related activities. Care is delivered in accordance with physician orders, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and applicable North Carolina Board of Nursing regulations to ensure student health, safety, and access to educational services. The LPN functions as part of a coordinated care team with supervision and support provided by our clinical team.

Qualifications:
  • Active, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in North Carolina.
  • CPR and BLS certification.
  • Experience providing pediatric or school-based nursing care preferred.
  • Ability to meet background check and credentialing requirements.
  • Strong clinical and assessment skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a school setting.
  • Professional judgment and discretion.
  • Clear communication and collaboration.
  • Reliability and adaptability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct 1:1 nursing care to assigned students during the school day and transportation.
  • Follow physician-ordered treatment plans and medical plans of care.
  • Perform skilled nursing tasks, including but not limited to medication administration, G-tube care and feedings, tracheostomy care, and vital sign monitoring and assessment.
  • Monitor student health status and respond to medical needs and emergencies.
  • Maintain daily nursing documentation, including shift start/end times
  • Complete and verify timesheets accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with families, school staff, and the clinical team.
  • Promptly report absences or service gaps.
  • Adhere to NC Board of Nursing Practice Act standards and ethical guidelines.
  • Participate in required supervision and skills validation.
  • Maintain active licensure, certifications, and compliance documentation.
  • Support continuity of care and student safety across school settings.
