Position Overview:
We are seeking a Nutritionist / Registered Dietitian to join our team at a multi-specialty practice in Queens, NY. In this role, you'll provide evidence-based nutritional counseling and education to patients in a collaborative healthcare setting.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Active New York State license as a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist (CDN) or Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN).
  • Open to new graduates.
  • Bilingual in Russian (required).
  • Proficient in nutritional assessments, meal planning, electronic health records, and medical nutrition therapy for various conditions (diabetes, hypertension, obesity, GI disorders, etc.)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, cultural competence, active listening, patience, and the ability to collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other providers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments, including dietary history, lifestyle factors, medical history, and anthropometric measurements.
  • Develop and implement individualized medical nutrition therapy (MNT) plans based on patient diagnoses, goals, and cultural preferences.
  • Provide nutrition counseling and education for chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, obesity, gastrointestinal disorders, food allergies, and eating disorders.
  • Educate patients and families on healthy eating habits, portion control, label reading, meal planning, and grocery shopping strategies.
  • Monitor patient progress through follow-up visits, adjust nutrition plans as needed, and document outcomes in electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other specialists to ensure integrated, whole-person care.
  • Stay current with evidence-based nutrition research, dietary guidelines, and best practices through continuing education.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and quality improvement initiatives as appropriate.
  • Provide group nutrition classes or workshops as needed.
