Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is currently seeking a Primary Care Physician to fill an opening with a network of federally qualified community health centers located in the Bronx, New York. Qualifications:
- Education: MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an accredited residency program.
- Licensure: Must have an active State medical license. Must be Board Certified.
- Experience: Understanding of and passion for Community Healthcare is preferred.
- Language: Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in conducting medical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and utilizing electronic health records.
- Soft Skills: Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, empathy, cultural competence, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examines or conducts tests on patients to provide information on medical conditions.
- Analyzes records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose the medical condition of the patient.
- Prescribes or administers treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
- Explain procedures and discuss test results on prescribed treatments with patients.
- Collects, records, and maintains patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination reports.
- Refers patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary. Complete and submit appropriate progress reports to the CMO.
- Advises patients and the community concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Maintains strict confidentiality and follows federal/state and organization regulations in this regard.
- Plans, implements or administers health programs or standards in the organization for information, prevention, or treatment of injury or illness.
- Attends scheduled monthly and quarterly medical staff meetings as well as education meetings.
- Agrees to see patients irrespective of their medical condition/diagnosis.
- Provides 24-hour on-call service on a rotating weekly basis.
- Conducts research to study anatomy and develop or test medications, treatments, or procedures to prevent, or control disease injury.
- Obtain and maintain admitting privileges to Urban Health Plan's affiliated hospitals.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
