Position Overview:
We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team at a multi-specialty practice in Queens, NY. In this role, you'll provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients across the lifespan in a collaborative, whole-person care setting.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health from an accredited program
  • Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license
  • Board Certified
  • New graduates are welcome to apply
  • Bilingual in Russian (required)
  • Proficient in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, medication management, psychotherapy techniques, and electronic health records
  • Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, empathy, cultural competence, active listening, and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including patient interviews, mental status examinations, and medical history reviews
  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of mental health disorders across the lifespan, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, OCD, and substance use disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, and lifestyle interventions
  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications as appropriate, ensuring patient safety and adherence
  • Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, treatment options, medication side effects, and coping strategies
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians, therapists, social workers, and other specialists to ensure integrated, whole-person care
  • Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in electronic medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Stay current with advancements in psychopharmacology, evidence-based therapies, and mental health best practices through continuing education
