Employment Type: Per-Diem.
Hourly Rate: $44.06 per hour.

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse (L&D) to fill an opening at a hospital located in Marrero, LA. This role focuses on providing specialized care to mothers during labor and delivery in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing (RN) program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree).
  • Licensure: Active Louisiana state RN license and Current BLS Certification.
  • Experience: At least one year of relevant Labor & Delivery or acute care experience is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in fetal heart monitoring, administration of IV medications, epidural management, and use of electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Soft Skills: Strong critical thinking, ability to remain calm under pressure, excellent communication with patients and families, and a compassionate bedside manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialized, compassionate nursing care to patients through all stages of labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period, monitoring both maternal and fetal well-being.
  • Continuously assess and interpret maternal vital signs, labor progress, and fetal heart rate patterns, identifying deviations from the norm and initiating appropriate interventions.
  • Coach, support, and educate patients and their support persons on labor techniques, pain management options, and the birth process.
  • Assist the physician or midwife during delivery, surgical procedures (e.g., cesarean sections), and any emergent situations, ensuring a safe environment for mother and newborn.
  • Provide immediate care and stabilization to the newborn and coordinate a smooth transition to postpartum or neonatal care units.
