Employment Type: Per-Diem (this is a 1099 position)
Hourly Rate: $35.22 per hour

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Per-Diem Registered Nurse for an opening at a Medical Center in Selma, AL. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a dynamic setting, managing a diverse patient population and collaborating with a skilled healthcare team.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Active, unencumbered RN license from the state of Alabama.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 months of RN work experience.
  • Technical Skills: Current CPR certification (Basic Life Support preferred).
  • Soft Skills: Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, effective communication, cultural competency, collaboration, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
  • Credentialing Requirements: Clean background check, negative TB test results, annual physical, COVID-19 vaccination, and other requirements as specified by the facility or agency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate comprehensive nursing care for a diverse patient caseload with acute and chronic medical conditions or recovering from surgical procedures.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies safely and accurately, while monitoring for patient response and potential complications.
  • Perform systematic patient assessments, document changes in condition, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure timely intervention.
  • Educate patients and their families on disease processes, post-discharge care, medications, and strategies for managing health after leaving the hospital.
  • Prioritize and delegate tasks efficiently to support staff (e.g., LPNs, CNAs) to ensure all patient care needs are met in a timely manner.
