Registered Nurse (School-Based, 1:1) – Wake County, NC

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide skilled 1:1 nursing services for students with complex or high-acuity medical needs requiring RN-level clinical oversight. In this role, you'll deliver direct care, develop care plans, and coordinate clinical care in alignment with physician orders, IEP requirements, and regulatory standards, supporting clinical oversight responsibilities as required by student acuity and applicable Medicaid and licensure requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
  • CPR and BLS certification.
  • Experience with pediatric, school-based, or high-acuity nursing preferred.
  • Ability to meet all credentialing and background requirements.
  • Advanced clinical judgment and assessment skills.
  • Care planning and documentation expertise.
  • Leadership and clinical oversight capability.
  • Effective communication and coordination.
  • Ability to manage complex student care needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct 1:1 RN-level nursing care to assigned students.
  • Develop, implement, and manage individualized medical plans of care.
  • Perform advanced nursing interventions as required by student condition.
  • Obtain, manage, and maintain current physician orders.
  • Assess student health status and respond to changes in condition.
  • Coordinate care with families, school personnel, and medical providers.
  • Maintain detailed daily nursing documentation and compliance records.
  • Participate in emergency response and escalation as necessary.
  • Provide clinical supervision and observation of LPNs when applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicaid and licensure supervision requirements.
  • Maintain active licensure, certifications, and continuing competency.
  • Participate in required training and supervisory activities.
