Registered Nurse - Nursing Home Surveyor/Complaint Investigator - New Rochelle, NY (#25141A)
Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is currently seeking a Registered Nurse - Nursing Home Surveyor/Complaint Investigator to fill an opening with a Review Company located in New Rochelle, New York.
Requirements of the Registered Nurse - Nursing Home Surveyor/Complaint Investigator:
  • Must have an NYS Registered Nurse license
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience performing utilization review, claims adjudication, medical review, fraud investigation, surveillance, or monitoring activities; OR
  • 3 years of clinical or administrative experience; OR
  • A Bachelor’s degree in nursing and 2 years of clinical or administrative experience
  • SMQT Certification is preferred but should be able to obtain within 12 months of employment
  • Must have a valid driver's license & the ability to travel to on-site facilities to review assignments
  • Must have at least one (1) year of survey experience
  • Employees must be available to work weekends, holidays, and evening shifts, as needed.
  • Candidates must be flexible with scheduling, as the state will determine the work schedule.

Weekend, holiday, and evening shift schedules will be assigned on a rotating basis.
This is a travel position.
Candidates will receive a premium pay rate for working on holidays and overtime.

Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - Nursing Home Surveyor/Complaint Investigator:
  • Participate in surveys or complaint investigations to include allegations of abuse and neglect, and perform surveillance activities/tasks at nursing homes (long-term care) to determine compliance with Federal and State regulations.
  • Produce written documentation and draft a Statement of Deficiencies (SOD) within the required time frame, using Principles of Documentation.
  • Assess compliance with the Plan of Correction within the required time frame.
  • Complete data entry in Federal and State reporting databases as required.
  • Participate in State monitoring during Immediate Jeopardy situations.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Testify in administrative hearings as needed.
  • Adhere to DOH work schedules.
  • Adhere to DOH and company policies, and procedures.
  • Travel to onsite locations according to work schedule.
