Hourly Rate: $66/hour

Position Overview:
Deliver critical care in a high-acuity Med Surg/Tele unit, monitoring complex patients and responding to rapid changes in condition. Join a fast-paced team serving diverse acute care cases in a trauma-center environment.

Qualifications:
  • Education: ADN/BSN from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted NY RN license.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (must be current or eligible for immediate renewal)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1.5 years of recent experience (within the past 2 years) in an acute care facility of similar size and acuity level as the hiring hospital
    • Must have experience in Med Surg/Tele unit.
    • Experience with high patient volume and multidisciplinary teams is strongly preferred.
    • Travel nurses must have experience in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma centers or hospitals of equal or greater size.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Must be Proficient in starting IVs.
    • Must be able to draw labs independently.
    • Must be skilled in monitoring and interpreting telemetry (tele).
    • Must have the ability to quickly assess and respond to changing patient conditions.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Rapid clinical assessment.
    • Crisis management.
    • Multidisciplinary collaboration.
    • Must have strong documentation and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor/interpret cardiac telemetry.
  • Perform IV starts and lab draws.
  • Respond to rapid changes in patient condition.
  • Document care in compliance with standards.
  • Manage high-volume caseloads.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
