RN Pediatric ER - Syracuse, NY(#25237)

Location: Syracuse, New York
Employment Type: Full-time, Contract (13 weeks, with potential extension)

Position Overview:

Deliver specialized emergency care to pediatric patients at an Acute Care/Academic Medical Center in Syracuse. This high-acuity role requires expertise in pediatric emergency medicine within a dedicated trauma center environment.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN).
Licensure: Active NY State RN License; Current BLS & PALS and ACLS preferred.
Experience:
- 2+ years of recent high-acuity Pediatric ER experience.
- Experience in an Adult Emergency Department is a plus, but not required.
- Candidates with experience limited to combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Departments will not be considered.
- Level 1/2 Trauma Center experience strongly preferred.
Technical Skills: EMR proficiency (EPIC experience preferred).
Soft Skills: Superior clinical assessment, critical thinking, and rapid decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Triage and stabilize pediatric emergencies.
Manage high-acuity cases in fast-paced trauma settings.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary trauma teams.
Administer specialized pediatric interventions.
Document care using the EPIC EMR system.
Provide family-centered crisis support.
Maintain readiness for pediatric resuscitation events.
